Pegasus and Moss Motors advertise Facet electric fuel pumps. Anyone have any experience using one of these as auxiliary to an SU pump? thanks Mark Sherman 1953 TD

Hi Mark! The Facet pumps are very good! You can buy them at Regular autopart stores for 1/2 the price Moss sells them for. Maybe less! I use one on my MGA.... I had also used one on my 75' Ford Bronco. The are sold in 2 different pressures. You want the lowest pressure pump (I think BLUE lable)(RED lable being the higher pressure pump) I don't remember on the colors, so read the lable! Cheers! use an mgb rear gearbox mount moss "413-050 " to insulate from racket. NAPA stores have the same pump for half of Moss $. I think they work best near the fuel tank to push rather than pull gasoline. We use the same pump on a motorhome's AC generator in my shop. Kevin Brinkerhoff

Actually, Facet makes several different types of pumps, rectangular and cylindrical. The red/blue designation refers to the cylindrical ones. I had a rectangular one installed when I bought my TC but replaced it with a SU electronic one. I am actually happy with both but prefer the look of the SU pump and it is probably more reliable than a mechanical one but I don't have comparative data. OK, I give up. Why would you use a second fuel pump? Is the second one actually in line and "in use" with the SU or is it mounted "just in case" the SU fails?
