added center brake light

I have added additional brake lights to my car as the thought of a teenager running his SUV into my fuel tank is not pleasant to ponder. Adding a brake light to a positive ground car is the same as for a neg ground car if you are using incandesent fixtures. I haven't done the diode lights, but I assume you just mount them so they are not grounded and then run your brake wire to the original grounded mounting point and the original contact point or wire gets grounded. That is simple enough, but on mine I wanted brake lights and turn signals to share the same filament. You can do that by just putting a diode in the line... go to Radio Shack and get the big fat ones they sell in a 4 pack (only a couple of dollars). I can't remember the size, but I assume if you pick one which will handle 1 or 2 amps you are ok. You need the diodes so that your turn signals will not act like 4-way emergency flashers and do both brake lights. Clear as mud? Terry TC2285 --- In mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com, "John Patterson" wrote:
