I fitted a new Moss UK supplied hood to my TC last Christmas. The hood is NOT attached to the bows, only the hood support straps. The front corners are quite tricky to get right. I just wrapped it around as far as I could with the amount of material available at the front of the hood which was about 2 1/2 inches. You need to get the inner side-screen flap lined up with the windscreen frame as well (it needs to sit in the rebate on the screen side). Quite a lot of material has to be cut away to get a neat appearance with plenty of tacks being used being careful to put them where they will be covered by the hidem band. I found it best to trim the surplus material away a small amount at a time otherwise you will end up cutting away too much! Worth the effort though and I am very happy with the end result. It seems that the outer sidescreen flap and piping are taken round the front and finish under the hidem band - but how far? I can't find a photo that shows this clearly. 1. TB 0487 says that his original hood fixings were 3/16 whitworth countersunk roundhead screws in cup washers, bolted under the frame hoop with a thin square headed bolt and no washer - he feels that TB 0489 should be the same. Re 2. Just dont know1 Clive ====================================
