Carbs and idle

Update on 4378 and the idle/carb problem: I changed out the carbs (I had a spare set - the new SU ones) and problem solved. Idles smoothly down to 500 RPM; set it at 700 after tuning. I think there is an air leak either at the butterfly valve or the shafts. Haven't studied it enough to know yet though. Will figure it out when I rebuild these.
