80 MPH

Dear All
Yes, my car does 80 mph. I got an unsolicited testimonial from a Porche driver who followed me on a dual carriageway when we were both going to the MGCC T Register rebuild seminar one year. He was quite surprised!
Specification:
Body, standard steel with full interior and weather equipment (side screens not always carried)
Chassis standard, 4.50 19 wheels with Dunlops.
Steering standard with Autocraft (period) top cover.
Gearbox, standard.
Axles, standard.
Diff, standard.
Original block, 1350cc
Laystall head (period conversion)
9.6 CR
Crane cam
Original carbs and air cleaner etc
Original distributor, coil, contact ignition, starter, dynamo, etc
All components rebuilt as and when necessary rather than thrown away.
Whole thing set up on a rolling road, gave 50 bhp at wheel rim when the engine was 500 miles from full rebuild.
The needles were changed to suit modern fuels ( the car runs on unleaded with tetraboost, which is an octane booster as well as lead additive).
Test drives available any reasonable time if you are in the area, which is Berkshire.
Yours aye
Julian Evers
