Grill badge / false nose

Post by mavicator » Wed May 11, 2005 10:34 am

Time for another dumb question. Is the false nose on the grill attached by the badge? There's a rubber bumper MG badge or something similar on my car and I can't see behind it to find whatever is holding it on. I assume it's a nut just like the proper badge but I shouldn't assume. I really want to get this thing off! Help! - Steve S - TC8975, LA, CA

Yes the false nose is held on via a long stud attached to the back of the radiator medallion. Stud goes through the false nose, the shell, and if I remember right (its been many years) then through an attached tab to the false nose). Held on with a nut on the back. You gotta take the shell off to get to it and tighten. David Edgar, TC 5108 El Cajon, California

"You gotta take the shell off to get to it and tighten." I was really hoping to not hear those words today. Guess I'll drive around with the MGB badge for a few days. - Steve S - TC8975, LA, CA
