At our MG's by the Bay show on Sat. my landlord brought a EXU TC that is virtually untouched and mostly original. It came out of an estate sale here. The spare was a John Bull and well worn and hard......I'm just wondering if John Bulls were the original tyres on export TC's...??? I had the same experience, went to Sears in 1956 to put new tyres on my newly acquired TC and put the 5.00 x 19 model A Allstates on the car ( 6 as I have double spares) and they were on the car until 2001 when I replaced them with Firestones from Coker Tire. You were right, $12.00/ tire and $6.00/ tube. Carried a spare tube in the side screen box. Coker charged $83.00/tire and $16.00/tube. Unless they have changed the stock, I found out that the Coker tubes valve stems were too big for the valve stem hole in the rim. Skip Kelsey carries the proper size. Mike K. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
