30-light

AFAIK, the 30-light is merely a different cover for the right-side map light (on the TC). It has a plastic or glass "jewel" in its top. One could make a reasonable duplicate given a bit of fiddling around and access to a craft store. As for the speedometer, I'm almost positive you'll find that the chronometric ones fitted to TCs and early TDs all have the 30-light switching built in. Look on the back side of your speedo; you should find an insulated electrical connector. This connects to GROUND during a speed range of between about 26mph and just over 30mph, so it can complete the circuit for a light which shines to indicate that you are traveling within that range. (Go faster than 30 and the light goes out; below about 26, the light is still off . ) I hooked mine up years ago, using a tiny indicator lamp from Radio Shack mounted just under the edge of the dash.
