Here in sunny S Africa I use "Silvo" (once in a careful, distant while) in the same way as I use "Brasso" (ditto) to polish the brass bits! Then I clean off the residual elements with methylated sprits - the purple stuff I imbibe after filtering through a loaf of white bread when the red wine consumption has exceeded the family budget (only joking JR, as I know our merlots are better value for money than those from the Hunter region!) Cape Cod polishing cloths work wonders without scratching the silver. The shine will last a few years before needing a redo. Ken TC 4147 Manchester NH davjak@aol.com wrote:

The company is located in Dennis, MA but I can buy the cloths locally at several stores. If you go to http://www.capecodpolish.com/ and use the store locater it will list the closest locations. They are also available on the web at: http://www.capecodpolish.ca/ Fred TC1353 -----Original Message----- From: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com [mailto:mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of LuckyFloridaLin@aol.com Sent: Wednesday, April 27, 2005 4:20 PM To: kwcp@comcast.net; DAVJAK@aol.com Cc: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Subject: Re: [mg-tabc] Head Lamp reflector Silver polish of choice? Dear Group, While the Mrs. and me were very pleasantly detained at www.the-bell-willersey.com for a few days the housekeeper enlightened us as to how she achieves brillance in copper without buffing. She uses a German product called Wenol which I promptly Googled upon our return. I ordered it from the lowest price vendor, polished the wife's copper, snuck the tin down to the garage and massaged 7794 with the remainder. Really a fine product. I've used them all and this is the only one that really works. Bob Brennan S. Freeport, ME P.S. Looking for an affordable MG-TF "driver".

Hi Gang, While we are on the reflector discussion, I would like to put me original reflector and cats eye lens's back on the car. The reflectors need to be resilvered and who in the Midwest can do this? Also I would like to convert the reflectors to accept the new Starbright bulbs instead of having to use the halogen bulbs which draw so much current. Any ideas? John- I recently had a pair of reflectors re-silvered. While I do not know anyone in the midwest, I can recommend Steve's Auto Restorations in Portland, Ore. (503-665-2222). Jim Dougherty TC 4931 TC 5382 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
