Taper axle tooling

Post by D&J Edgar » Thu Feb 10, 2005 3:29 pm

I pass the following on to you all. I have no financial gain in this. Phil lives in Southern California (Pacific Standard Time) for those distant members so you don't call him at 2 AM. He has no email. ================================= FOR SALE Complete set of tooling to fabricate MG TA, TB, TC TD, TF & J2 taper type axle shafts. Items include: complete drawings, gages, broaches, lathe & mill fixtures, specs, plus form cutters to cut standard inner splines (6 splines), TD/TF splines at the hub end as well as 10 splines for those who have Morris/Midget differential spider gears. Also included are tooling, drawings and thread gages to fabricate axle nuts with seal (both left and right sides). All of above have been used successfully in the past and I am selling all since I am no longer making the items due to health. $500.00 USD for the lot. (shipping & handling extra) Contact: Phil Marino Phone: 951-352-4419 ==================================== David Edgar, TC 5108 El Cajon, California

Sad to hear that Phil is retiring (we heard that he had a stroke a while back), but the good news is that both myself (in England) and Bob Grunau (in Canada) can supply taper fit half shafts for M.G. or Ford diffs. I have never done TD/TF, but have supplied all MMM (including K3) and of course TA/B/C. They are supplied ready fitted to new hubs (although old hubs can be modified). My hub nuts with lip seals are hexagonal, as they were originally, but are now 50mm. (can also use a 2" AF) and come with stainless sleeves to use on splined shafts. The T-Register Rebuild seminar is at the usual St. Neots location on 20th. March, contact "Peter Cole" peter.cole@onetel.net> where I will do the back axle and all its problems. Anybody wanting parts should order beforehand, since I won't be bringing my whole range of spares (there is just too much!). Thanks to Joe Curto, I now have a good stock of condenser (= capacitor) plates (#409613)which will be converted to take a modern (and cheap!) screw-mounted C. After rotor arms, they are the commonest cause of ignition faults. Converted plates (with C) 12.50, spare C 3.50, original Lucas, no guarantee, 25. ocTagonally TCRoger Dave Edgar wrote:
