TD/TF Oil Pump on TC

I know the later integral oil pump and filter can be adapted to the early TC/TD blocks and in fact Moss reportedly sold a kit to do this at one point. Does anyone know if any permanent changes are made to the block and/or pump, or is the modification fully reversible? - Steve Simmons, TC8975
