TC motor mount question

Post by JOHN SWANLAND » Wed Oct 23, 2019 11:15 pm

Hi all Are all TC rubber motor mounts from the same manufacturer? Mine are fairly new and I do get a fair bit of excess vibration transmitted to the chassis. Is it possible the compound used on some mounts is too hard? Hi John

I had a similar vibration after doing up my engine and suspected the smaller rebound rubbers on the underside of the engine mounts were tightened too much and restricting the main rubber mounts flexibility, which are pretty stiff to start with.

Try backing off these rebound rubbers and see if it reduces the vibration.

Best regards

Thank you Paul I think you have pointed me in the right direction It was a good day in Melbourne to not be driving the TC so I got under it and checked the mounts. They were done up so the rebound rubber was rock hard. I have loosened them up to the point where I can only just get the thin lock nut on. I will be driving it a fair bit next week so will be able to test this change cheers, John
