TC History in the UK

Hi All I m trying to find some history on my MG TC (TC1518) prior to my dad acquiring it as a basket case in South Africa in 1981. UK DVLA are not able to provide info based on VIN number and I don t have a UK register number. Anyone able to lead me to a source of any info would be appreciated.
