TABC King Pins & Bushings

Attachments : Greeting to all,

Recent discussion and article in TTT@ about very good to highlight problem with the elongated axle eyelets.  However, I want clarify  a misconception of single source kingpins.

FTFU has their own supply of kingpins that are actually slightly oversize:  .0754” diameter.  I am not sure who is the supplier for the undersize kingpins.  FTFU also has the king pin bushings manufactured per original specs; wrapped with proper grease groves cut into them.  (not brass bushing turned on the lathe)

So an axle that has begun slight elongation should be fine if you have the proper king pin.  However, it is important to trial fit in each case and then you can determine if the situation requires correction via rebush or oversize king pin (varying opinions)

My point is that car owners do have choices with suppliers.  I did not want FTFU to get lumped in with possible questionable quality, thinking nobody has the correct part.
