Carey, If it only gives safe travel up to 60mph then there must be something badly wrong with the rest of the car ! My TB, with original well set up bishop cam steering, and correct chassis and suspension geometry runs dead straight at 80 mph with no concerns whatsoever. My TC steeri g is original and set up correctly with no wear in drag links or track rod ends. The steering box has had new bearings, the top plate ground falt. I have been on a long 450 mile weekend with speeds up to 65 mph and no wander and the car steers wonderfully. In my opinion the high geared steering conversion cover up poorly configured bishops cam steering tel: 0044 741 9905 741 From: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com> on behalf of CLIVE SHERRIFF csherriff99@gmail.com [mg-tabc] mg-tabc-noreply@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2019 12:21:15 PM To: Robert Beer carey.beer@me.com> Cc: yahoogroups mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com> Subject: Re: [mg-tabc] Re: VW steering conversion from Peter Edney     Carey, If it only gives safe travel up to 60mph then there must be something badly  wrong with the rest of the car ! Hi Guys, I concur with Norman and others. A properly set up and maintained BC box is perfectly satisfactory. The links are all adjustable and as Norman says if necessary fit new bearings and get the lid ground flat. Another thing to look at is the peg. Replacement pegs are available, but beware some are machined to the wrong angle so only make minimal contact with the worm. You can help the problem of a slightly worn peg by pushing it out and rotating it through 90 degs. My car has less than around +/- 1 inch lost motion at the steering wheel rim and doesn't wander. As someone once said "The steering wheel is not for keeping the car in a straight line, it's for going round corners!" RegardsPeter
