Looks like a prewar rim with a stone guard attachment. The prewar headlamps were secured by a knurled screw into a triangular bracket that fit in a slot in the bottom of the shell. I can see the knurled screw in Franks attachment I did not open the picture on the original email , going to Yahoo and entering a pass word is a pain. Mike [b]From:[/b]

Steve,Could they be rims for stone guards? The K3s had double rims, one to hold the glass lens and a secondary rim that mounted in front of that that held the stone guard. Frank

Looks like we have a winner. No way to know if these are originals or repros but at least we now know what they are for. Thank you all!
