No issues here John, although it has been quiet of late .. perhaps all the T types out there are running faultlessly! Re your tank neck, I did notice there were no replies to your query .. none that were 'open' to the group anyway. Did you get any 'off list' response? I was going away for few days so didn't respond thinking others with more knowledge would beat me to it anyway.
When I bought my present TC 0632, the filler cap was on the tank at an angle. It closed and sealed OK, well, as 'OK' as they ever do but it made filling a bit awkward. The tank, and the car, were going to be repainted so with a mindset of 'I'll get it right or bugger it up', I set about the neck with a large Stilson type pipe wrench .. and to my surprise it moved!
It didn't have to move far .. about an eighth of a turn I seem to remember but whether it was threaded, an interference fit or a failed brazed joint I couldn't say .. all I know is it moved and doesn't leak.
