I have two engines and transmissions that were in the Santa Rosa California fire last year. The engines were disassembled in the garage and the fire gutted the place. The owner lost his TA, Alfa Romeo and HRG(!). The fire was not extinguished, but cooled down normally.
My question to the distinguished membership is, what are the thoughts on their viability? Cast iron could be OK - melting point is something like 2000 degrees fahrenheit. Head studs were warped from the heat. Two complete trans cases and one empty. Cranks, heads flywheel, clutch parts. Two photos attached.
One engine is asked for, the other maybe. Free, obviously.
I would appreciate any thoughts.
The HRG, by the way, is now being restored, or should I say, resurrected.
