Wiper motor results

Post by Neil Nelson » Sat Jun 16, 2018 2:19 pm

Firstly, thanks to the many who replied to my query regarding the wiper motor problem I was having. I got many good replies from the group.  Thanks to all...
The result was successful and I now have a working wiper system.
Apparently there are several types of CW wiper motors that were made.  They pretty much look alike on the outside but differ internally.  They vary in mounting position and sweep area to name a couple of differences.
My solution came from some photos sent to me by the group along with suggestions for a fix.
Parking the wipers on the left side instead of the right solved the sweep problem but I still had a problem when I tried to put the manual park lever in the park position.  Shutting off the wiper motor and latching the park lever into the switch moved the wipers from a left park position to vertically in front of the windscreen. The park lever is notched so it only installs in two positions, neither of which properly parked the wiper blades.
The solution was to remove the lever and cut new notches 90 degrees to the original ones.  Now I can park the wipers on the left and the park lever fastens to the on/off lever.  Problem solved.
Thanks again for all the great assistance.
