Bruce, This is the back plate for the door latch. It fits between the front door latch pillar and the body skin. It has been modified from original with the tab. You hold the tab while positioning to start the 2 machine screws through the door striker. Once you finalize the door striker then you sink the other 2 wood screws in door striker. The second piece is the retainer bracket. It gets nailed to pillar to hold back plate from falling out when the machine screws are removed. I do not use this as one the machine screws are set, no need. I have all of thee pieces in stock if anyone else needs them.
