John Seim has already identified the part in the photo...it s Moss Catalog TC Brake Item #22, PN 181-940 (part not available). Look at the picture in either the online catalog or your paper copy.

Pic shows how "link" wraps around brake pedal, then connects to smaller spring on switch. Lower spring is return spring. Pic from Norman's site.
