Wilsons Sandbox

I have an oil temp gauge with a sender that looks like the sender for the water temp gauge.  I assumed it would go into the sump with an adapter for the sump plug.  I thought I had one but can't find it. 

Is this where folks plug that sender?  Or can it be adapted elsewhere.
