Attachments :Just a note of correction for you on starter gear teeth.TA has 11TC has 10. It could be your TC starter has a TA gear. Both are the same specs except for the teeth #. I never realized I had TC starter on my TA; it is the way it was when I bought it. As you can see from the photo the down pipe has been crimped to get around the starter. I understand the TA starter has 10 teeth and the TC 11 teeth. I ve no idea what the ring gear is but I would assume original TA given the block and gearbox are original to the car. My options seem to be to 1) leave it as is or 2) cut out the crippled section and replace it with a new section forward of the starter or 3) buy a TA starter and new down pipe. I am fine with #3 but want to make sure the TA starter would work.
