Madhu. I am familiar with how the various standard sized lip seals work, nonetheless I appreciate your reply. The strange description in the Moss catalog took a while to decipher. The typical terminology to describe a nut does not include describing it by the size of the socket needed to work on it. Also, the Moss description clearly implie(d) that a different (less common) size nut had been in use, as they were offering only the "more common" size.. ""Now supplied in the more common 50mm, these nuts have an integrated lip-seal and are designed to keep oil from leaking onto your rear brake drums. "" 265-115 Interesting that the Moss website had the lip seal nut last night, along with the above cut and pasted description, and today it has disappeared from the All New Moss website layout that started just today. All that can be found today using that part number is the lip seal replacement for $6.79 ea. The actual thread form on the nut is M40 x 1.5. No mystery there. What is a mystery is why only the "more common" socket size nut was available last night. It is my understanding that any number of people offered the "less common" or smaller size (socket) lip seal nut in the past many years, and that the (less common) smaller size could be used with the original design hub bearing housing, while the larger 50mm (socket) lip seal nut cannot be used with the original design hub bearing housing-- because there is not enough clearance to get a 50mm socket in there onto the nut. Duncan Just to add to the confusion when Roger started making his version of the seal nuts he (and no doubt others) made them from 2 inch hex bar stock. I bought mine from him in the dim and distant past and bought a 2 inch AF socket to fit them. Now 2 inch bar stock is 'less common', so he has shifted to 50mm stock, which is 'more common'. Maybe the supplier to Moss has done the same? Peter Cole
