Parts needed

Dear list:
I would like to buy a set of used TC sidecurtain frames. It's OK if they still have the old sidecurtain material on them but its condition is not important as I really only need the frames for fresh covers. Anybody have an old set to sell? You can reply directly to me off list at
rjdirect@earthlink.net
Thank you.

Group,
I have been unable to locate a .019" valve clearance plate for the rocker
cover of TC 2481, XPAG 3168. Plates are not currently available from Moss,
Abingdon or Anglo Parts. Does anyone have a spare plate or know of another
source? I'm also looking for a pair of Nerf bars for the front end.

Hi Tom
I have a set of nerf bars I don't need. Front and Rear. The chrome if very
good to excellent. I want to sell the whole set. The front bars look like
the ones in the picture on page A10 of the latest Moss catalog. I can
probably dig up a photo off the rear if need be.
I have no idea what they are worth. Make me an offer.
I put this out to the whole group in case you do not want the whole set.
Maybe someone else will.

Hi Tom,
I have one, but it's screwed to the valve cover. If
you can't find one, I could sell you the cover and
it's tag.

I have one attached to a TD valve cover that came with my TC. I was able to
locate an original aluminum cover so the old one is excess. If anyone needs
it, please let me know.

Tom,
You and I may be the last two of a dwindling small number of nerf bars lovers. They apparently came in all sizes and shapes based on my very unscientific study of the TCs at GOF West this year. The ones on my TC are incredibly tall - 14.5 inches (measured from the inside of the bend) and didn't look too bad until I saw everyone elses. I have since gotten a set from Dave Edgar which measure 13.0 inches and seem to be much more proportionally "correct".
I would be surprised if you found a current manufacturer. All the ones I saw were different, so my guess is that they were custom made. Perhaps back in the day MG Mitten or some after market seller had them.
Let me know what you find out.

Plimley Motors who were the importers of MGs in British Columbia fitted
antenna bumpers to all TCs, they also fitted turn signals. My guess is
that the turn signals were a motor vehical regulation requirement for
cars with RHD of which there were quite a few in the 1940s but the
others had semaphore arms. The bumpers were heavy duty and well
proportioned, much better than the rather flimsy ones sold by Moss. I
heard about a year ago that Phil Johnston in Edmonton was remanufacuring
them. Terry in Vancouver

Parts Needed

Dear Listers:
I recently purchased basket-case TC/9465 and am in need of a few "unavailable" parts. Specifically, I need
two (2) front shock absorber arms and a decent (unbroken, uncracked) grille surround. If anyone has any of these items, or knows where they may be obtained, please contact me off-list.
Also, I have 2 outside-laced 19" wheels suitable for TA or TB, if anyone is in need!! Again, contact off-list.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
