Depends on what the "job" is. Avon Tourists are perfectly good for general purpose touring. Clive is correct that they are not a sports tire, but if like so many T-Type owners these days you don't often drive in a "sporting manner", you don't need the Avon Turbospeeds he recommends. And when I say "sporting manner", I mean REALLY sporting. I used 6:00 X 16 Avon Tourists tires on a YA Saloon daily driver back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Ask anyone who was a passenger in that Q-Ship about driving in a sporting manner. The Avon Tourists did a pretty good job, but a stickier compound would have been better. -- Chip Old 1948 M.G.
