Running Temperature

Hi Gang
I have a parade on the forth and the last one was in hot weather( unusual
for Northern Michigan) and the temp got up to 90 C ! my question is, is it
harmful to the engine to run it at this temp for about 30 minutes?. When I
was able to get it up to speed again it came back down to 70 C where it
usually runs.
Thanks

Why in the world would anyone in they're right mind drive a British car in a
forth of July parade???
The forth of July represents the birth of our country and our successful
escape from the tyranny and oppression of Great Britain over our colony and
the many who gave their lives to secure our independence.
I like British cars too but on the forth of July, let's give it a break.

Well, finally Ol' Badge doesn't get it. It isn't about where your car was
made, it's about the freedom to drive whatever you want to drive. Americans
love to see these beautiful little cars in their "Birthday" Parade (After
all, when you've seen 10,000 '57 Chevys, you've seen 'em all.)
I do agree that freedom should have it's limits. When our local Pearl Harbor
Survivors were seen riding in a Toyota convertible a few years ago - that was
too much!
Dan Harmer
'48 MG TC - Can be seen in the Coronado, CA 4th of July parade
'00 FLSTC - You should have seen it in the Bozeman, MT HOG Rallye parade

I agree: we forget that it's Independence Day, but that seems to go along with
everything else the minority gets edicted to the rest of us, i. e. "One Nation
Under God"; "In God We Trust"; Hire more Spanish speaking Doctors so they can
treat the illegal aliens, using Government funding, rather than make the have
the "visitors" learn English, if they want to live here and take our welfare.
Not quite MG talk.
If MGs were the only thing foreign in the parade, I'd be surprised. The
flags will come from China, along with the clothes the parade people wear, and
the shoes from India, the watches we wear, from Switzerland, or from Japan; the
fruits from South America, and the veggies from Mexico, the beef from
Argentina,and I guess I will add etc.....
