Hi Roland I am in the process of tearing down TC3586, which was last run in 1956 and put away and untouched (literally) since then. This car is mostly undisturbed. It had plain aluminum sill plates attached by small slotted oval head screws. I believe Sherrell is accurate on this point. Rolland I think the sill plates on my car are original, no lettering, held down with small brass wood screws, think they were flat head, I know they were slotted. If you need to know the screw size, will take one out. the parts list gives a part number for the early cill plates, finished at body number 4836 and the later, assume un-lettered commencing at body number 4837. BTW different numbers are given given for left and right plates and not as the repro ones which are identical. Rolland, On the original MMM & T-series cars we have disassembled we have found the sill plate screws to be #4 x 5/8" slotted raised countersunk (oval head). We use stainless sheet metal screws for better grip (than original wood screws) as heads are identical. Be sure to countersink the sill plates sufficiently, drill pilot holes into the ash, and use beeswax as a lube so the small screw doesn't snap off. tommm
