Mark That is correct, that is the earthing point or grounding point, and if you are using positive ground, the negative terminal has to be isolated from the panel. When I purchased the car I inherited a home-spun loom that didn't connect up things like the Ammeter (it didn't have one), panel lamps, inspection sockets and fog lamp, so I'm unable to use the existing wiring as a guide. I sort of remember that the earthing-wire for the panel went on one of the threaded posts for either the speedometer or the tach. Sam Suklis
