Does anyone know the thread of the small hole on the side of the front hubs? I am trying the replace the screw that goes in the hole ... Murphy's Law ... one of the holes is buggered up enough to not allow me to do this... I have a fairly large tap and die set, however, I do not have whatever size this is. Rob, 1/2"-26 tpi, I have the special tap. If you don't install the TC special steel plug use an MGA type of rubber bung/seal on the inside of the hub. Otherwise water can enter the hole and may ruin a wheel bearing. Regards,m Bob Grunau Does anyone know the thread of the small hole on the side of the front hubs

Bob, good call on the 1/2" - 26tpi hub hole. That's BSC thread - British Standard Cycle, one of two places I'm aware of where TABCs use BSC threads. The entire range of diameters is 26 tpi and to my knowledge it's the only 1/2" size that uses 26 tpi. Tough tap size to find. Tommm F2 PB TC

What's the second place?

A Google search should turn up a few leads. I've occasionally come accross specialist fastener vendor sites listing BSC taps aned dies, but didn't make note of them. -- Chip Old 1948 M.G. TC TC6710 XPAG7430 NEMGTR #2271 Cub Hill, Maryland 1962 Triumph TR4 CT3154LO CT3479E fold@bcpl.net

Tomm, Chip et al., AND if I may continue this THREAD!..............! (Ahem!) The head light mounting bolts (tubes?) are BSC 26 TPI, as are the track rod and drag link ends; these latter of course are left-hand threaded on one end. Now THERE'S a must-have die to challenge us! Believe me! Regards, David Lodge

I believe you will find it to be 5/8"- 20 tpi left and right thread on the TA/TB/TC ( not 26 tpi ). Regards, Bob Grunau..
