Tony Do you have copies of old TSO's, there is a good picture of a set of carb's for a TC in a TSO copy about twenty years ago, factor break down picture. If you have the old TSO will look up the number, I believe it has a picture of a race car on the front, and it has a black and white cover. Also depending on the year, there are two different throttle shaft return spring etc used. I have acquired a pair of TC carbs but minus quite a few of the controls; and I am not sure of the correct arrangement along the rotating spindle. I cannot find a good illustration anywhere and the retailers catalogues show a multitude of fittings, and there seem to be a few variations. BTW, TF carbs do not use the slow running control although I do have the cable but nothing else. A request at a recent gathering to photograph TC carbs was met with air cleaners and manifolds - could not see a thing! Can anyone give me a run down from left to right of the correct bits so that I can establish what I need to purchase to set up these carbs, or if someone knows of a definitive illustration, that would be fine. I have no problem with the actuating levers etc just the " top row " I intend to keep the TF set complete rather than use bits off them should they be interchangeable. Listers, If anyone else is interested I have the photos of my carb controls (top row) available in fairly small .jpg files (40 - 45k). As I told the others that asked for them I don't guarantee that they're correct (or even original) but they do work and the photos do show the slow running set-up. Tony, I took a series of 11 digital photos of the SU's on my TC when I took them off. I also did a hand drawing of the links etc. Happy to email the photo's. Will probably be a pretty large file though. If you are on a Windows system I can shrink the file some what.The hand drawing might just do. Mark Stolzenburg TC 7812

Micheal, the design of the slow running control is IMO a "lash up". I find it difficult to believe that the factory actually "designed" this. The location of the return spring (and for that matter its form) leave a lot to be desired. What I am saying is that just because it doesn't seem the go together as a good engineering job it doesn't mean that you have done it wrong. Having said that the thing works! and I wouldn't be without it - all cars should have one. Unfortunately I haven't got a diagram, having copied one a long time ago which came from I know not where.
