David (TC 3896) and Peter Ross suggested we vent the gas tank. And that was the answer - Bob called me this evening and said after he "popped the top" he was able to do 30 miles of driving with no problems. I'll take a look and see what he's got there - he was saying he had a swollen rubber o-ring seal on his cap and doesn't see a vent - I don't have an o-ring on mine - I just have a thin gasket and a concave metal piece with a hole drilled in it. Thanks all who wrote - we do know there's several things we need to do still - including adjusting the valves. Gene --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. <<>> with a hole drilled in it. <<>> That small hole rusts shut on some cars. I believe if you press that cup up far enough you will see a cross drilled hole in the shaft which is the vent. When closed this cross drilled hole is above the cup, thus venting the tank. This hole is also susceptible to rusting shut. Blake
