EXU horn wiring

Dear Group,
Recently the fuse block for the horns was discussed but I'm curious about the wiring.
The diagram for the EXUs shows a brown wire from the battery to the fuse block. I jury rigged my own but I'd like to know what the original looked like. The replacement harness I bought years ago had no such wire with it. Did the original battery have the American terminals?
BTW, how many EXU listers are there - I think I recall the total number as being 492.
While I'm here- Two EXU variations I have which I have never seen mentioned in the sources. Chrome plated badge bar brackets and the combo oil pressure/water temperature guage fitted to the TDs.
Any enlightenment on the above would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael DeRentz
P.S. Gene, let us know which of the solutions cures the coughing & sputtering.

AFAIK neither is original on any TC, including the EXU.

EXU Horn Wiring

Every body without an EXU can hit delete.
Here's an EXU horn wiring question.
The early EXU did not have a fuse block for the horn. Later ones did. The
wiring diagram for the TC EXU Export shows the wiring diagram only with the
fuse block. I am trying to confirm the correct wiring for the early model
that did not have the fuse block.
My guess is that the 2 wires from the horn #38, brown with green go from the
horn to the voltage regulator terminal A2. A2 is empty for the late model
EXU with the horn fuse block. Both my EXUs are early model and I can not
tell the color code with age and having been painted but A2 does have 2
wires connected there on my 2nd car.
Originally I was going to put a fuse block on my show car but as I approach
that stage I have decided to keep it as it came from the factory. My 2nd
car will be the driver and it will get retrofitted with the fuse block.
Thanks for the help.
