Hi All,
Regarding having my cylinder head modified to run on unleaded I
could not say if there had been any valve seat recession as I have not done
that many miles in the car. I had it done as I have a spare head modified to
Stage 1A to make use of higher octane petrol now available. Nice to talk
MG,s again innit!

Sounds reasonable. You would get a better hydrostatic wave in the bearing
area, and from the oil blowing around the rocker box, still get tip
lubrication.
I think I would make it reversible, though.....just in case!
BTW, were you getting that much seat erosion with the normal valve seats? I
have been running a 1275 Spridget engine in my wife's Morris Minor with a
stock head about 8-10000 miles a year with no measurable problems so far.
Have any of you had bad experiences with the stock heads?
Best,
Ray
