Rocker Cover

I have stripped off the three or four layers of chipped old paint and
thought I would have it powdercoated as a "permanent" solution to the
prior unsightly mess. The cover has a breather tube for the air cleaner
which is soldered in place. Unless it is silver solder it will not take
the heat from the powdercoating process. Does anyone know? If not open
to recomendations for suitable paint. Terry (the other one)

I'd be very surprised if they originally used soft solder in that kind of
joint.
However silver is expensive, so I would guess it's brazed. Try a knife or
scriber on the jointing metal: soft solder is . . . soft (very). You'll soon
tell.

Hey, Guys & Girls:
That last message that came through with a "cure" for the virus...be very
careful! That same message set off the Norton Virus alert. SOMETIMES (I'm
not saying this one is, but it could be) the offer of a "cure" can actually
be designed to lead you into a virus instead. Virus cures can be found at
the Symantek site, and others like it. Be sure. Be safe.
The fact that this letter set off the Virus alarm could be only if the
actual full name of the virus is written in the letter. The presence of the
code name in an ordinary, innocent e-mail can make Norton think there is a
virus in there. I meant to mention that yesterday, if you're talking about
ANY virus in a letter, do it this way: W*3*2*K*l*e*z etc. That's how the
computer help newsgroups do it, so they won't set off alarms. Norton is
programmed to recognize the real name, and can go into action when it sees
the virus name, even if it's just part of someone's letter.
Best to all,
Sam

Sorry Sam, but that is not correct. The mere inclusion of the name of a
Virus in the text of an e-mail message will not trigger anti-virus
software. In the case of this Klez.H worm, anti-virus software looks for
certain characteristics identified as always being present in file
attachments that carry Klez.H.
The "cure" message you received is just one of the many guises under which
Klez.H transmits itself via e-mail from PC to PC. It was the infected
file attachment that triggered your anti-virus software.

The air cleaner spout is indeed soldered with ordinary lead. Will not
take temperatures exceeding 275F so the cover can not be powdercoated
which requires temperatures of 400-425F. Terry

So, no problem; just braze or hard solder the thing in there, & keep on
truckin'.
