Truly sorry Joe - I have no idea why that happened and I'm not certain that I can help you fix it.
I [u]THINK[/u] that you can remove temporary internet files by going to
(1) Programs (2) Accessories (3) System Tools (4) Disk Clean up then (5) select "C drive" (or whatever your main hard drive is) then (6) check the "Temporary internet files" box and (7) click "OK"
That is the way that I remove temporary internet files on my computer.
