Blumels TABC steering wheel ?

Ok all,
Here is a question which might best be answered by a late TA or TB owner and perhaps early TC also. On the original Blumels three spoke steering wheels of the all black bakelite variety which were seen on all the Tickfords and the late TA and TB roadsters as well as the home market TCs there were two types of center pieces. One type is very thin brass with MG pressed in and used round head machine screws for mounting. Another type of center piece was much thicker with the MG machined in and used counter sunk machine screws, on this type the MG was some times filled in with red paint. Does any one know which type was originally on a TB ? Has any one been lucky enough to have their original still on the car...if you do you will also find a 39 date inside on the wheel and I would guess TAs had a date to.
Cheers,
John

The New England MG T Register, R. Knudsen, mentions
the thicker center piece as an aftermarket item.

I sort of like the JC Whitney wheel.
Sorry John, lost it!
Best,
Ray
