Walter: I would be happy to send pics , it will be a few days before the film gets back from the developer. Should I send them by regular mail or by e-mail? By the way what part of Germany do you live in? My father came from Germany from a town called (Wolf, uber Hersfeld Gorb-Hessen Amerikanische zone) this was the address in 1945. I have never been able to find it on a map for sure.
Best wishs

Hi Walter; the "MG Garage" is kind of a joke , a take off or Morris Garage I always thought that MG should stand for Meismer's Garage.

I was told (by a person of low status) that MG stood for "More Grief".
On the topic in the subject matter block, What is the correct bulb patter for a D Lamp? I have seen at least two different styles.

I might be wrong (I often am) but I think you will find that the D
lamps without the bar are a later style, because with the bar there
wasn't enough illuminated area to meet some regulation or other. The
same light was used on Series 1 Landrovers in which world I first
heard of the reason.

For that precise reason (increased illuminated area) I fitted the later,
incorrect, D lamps to TC0978. They are also much cheaper in black! Also, to
avoid horrible bike-type indicators, I fitted relays which flash the stop
lamps (and also the low petrol light - the sender never worked anyway). It
all helps to be seen at night, but there is so little traffic in our Devon
lanes that I cannot remember when I last saw a car behind me
