Dear Kimberites: We have been advised by a long time friend who is an oil engineer and racing specialist that Redline is designed for racing. It has no suspension properties for dirt. It is designed to be changed out after every race. We have been advised that if you use Redline in your engines you should change it out every 500 miles which hardly seems practical at $12 per quart. If you do not, then you may risk substantial increased engine wear. You may wish to consider Mobil One as an alternative engine oil. We cannot comment on the use of Redline in transmissions, but will inquire and report our findings. Kindest regards, Alan Campbell
