Redline Oil - WOW

A few weeks back I order a quart of the Redline 75-140 NS oil for the TC transmission from Skip Kelsey at
www.shadetreemotors.com. Not only did the Redline oil quiet the operation of the transmission, but the ease of up-shifting and down-shifting was immediately noticeable. Prior to changing to the Redline oil I was running straight 140 weight oil purchased from Moss. I never thought that oil could make that much difference, but it did in this case. It's the best $7.95 I've spent on the TC. I would recommend the Redline oil to anyone. BTW, I have no financial interest in Shadetree or Redline. I just believe when a product or service provides exceptional results, you need to tell others. Mark Stolzenburg TC 7812

I had the same experience with the TD. Its some slippery stuff, without a doubt. BMW had a service bulletin about changing the manual boxes over to BMW ATF. Must be the same idea. Regards, Mark TC8126

Hi Mark, I changed my TC over to Redline when it clocked 2000 miles on the restoration. Engine, trans, and axle. I too am very happy with it. In fact within seconds of the engine starting on Redline, the idle went up 200 rpm! But I recall just recently someone stating that Redline is too good for the TC trans. I guess it had something to do with the syncro rings not getting a grip on their job. I have not experienced that problem, but my third gear likes to go AWOL when not under a little torque. Some day I'd like to fix that but fear I won't know what to look for. Cheers, Peter [quote] -----Original Message-----
