Re: [mg-tabc] Battery / UK hi George - I would be [b]very[/b] surprised if anybody makes the correct rubber-bodied batteries any more. They need ears with holes in for the clamping bolts, but the closest you are likely to find are ears with slots.
One solution I saw was a rectangular steel frame made from something like 1/2" x 1/2" angle with lugs ("ears") on each end, but if you also want original type lead links on top, watch out for sparks!
But why bother - use a modern heavy duty battery, the biggest that will fit (possibly Landrover type) with one or two nylon web straps to lift it (one of the [b]most[/b] awkward jobs on a TC!)
