Question/offer for the Group. Member Bob Bell has a front bumper which was on his car when he bought it that he's not planning on using and would like to know (1) if anyone is familiar with what kind it is, and (2) would anyone be interested in buying it. Bob has had the bumper rechromed within the last couple of years (it wasn't put back on the car after having this done) and has the mounting brackets but isn't sure if he has the bolts that hold the bumper to the mounting brackets. The bumper can be seen on Bob's car in the Gallery section and there's variations of it shown in the Brooklands Book, MG TC 1945 - 1949, pages 60 (front and rear bumper), 69 (rear bumper), 74 (front view), and 83 (rear bumper), and on page 127 of the Immortal T Series by Chris Harvey. Anyone interested possibly purchasing it can contact Bob thru me at this email address or by phone at 601-766-3224. Thanks, Gene --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. That is an Inskip bumper, I might have misspelled it, always was told that most of them were put on at the Distributor in New York NY. I have a set of them on my car, bolts, I do not believe, are anything special, seem to me it take a 3/8th .

Cheers Dean

I remember sitting in a bar in Mission Beach California and watching a "lady" in a huge Buick trying to park. Unfortunately my MGA was behind her. By the time I got out she had hit it three times and then given up and left! Jim in sunny Tucson

Jim the sad thing is that she probably did not have a clue that she even hit it. In the early 1970's in USA a popular accessory for American cars were these huge overriders which were suitable to use as a push device. Most MGB had dents in the bonnet about 1 foot up from the front edge which was just about where those things made contact with the bonnet Joe -----Original Message----- From: Murray Arundell arundell@ghs.com.au> To: js4955 js4955@verizon.net> Cc: Mike H. camino61@yahoo.com>; mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Sent: Mon, Mar 7, 2011 5:31 pm Subject: Re: [mg-tabc] Bumper Told you drinking would bring you no good...... :) Murray A risbane Australia
