question , i'm restoring my 1947 TC to original
condition, meaning original "green" paint on engine
ect. What's the correct color for the chassis, flat
black or gloss black?

Orlando,
IMHO....and as a restorer...I think back then it was gloss that was not
like today's gloss that just turned quickly to more of a satin finish. I use
gloss with a flattener in it...you will get MANY different opinions on this.
Would not advocate a mirror finish if your aim is originality.
