Tickford headliner

Post by Bill Hentzen » Thu Jan 24, 2002 2:16 pm

Good news-Lee Jacobsen! Gene Roth loaned me the original headliner from his TA when I did TB0437 and as he has sold the car, has sent me the headliner and asked I act as the custodian. It arrived today and if you are ready to use it as a pattern, I can send it to you or the trimmer? It is rough shape and very fragile, but should be of help. It is four pieces, back, two sides and the center. It has the remains of the piping that joined the pieces. This pattern, of course, will help determine the size of the exterior top pieces. Most important, it shows the placing of the rear window which is not in the center of the rear piece as centering the window would not allow the top to fold properly in the full folded position. It will also show where the interior lamp is placed. Further, it shows the bow positions and hence the correct profile of the top. So, let me know if you would like to use it and when you need it. Cheers, Bill
