When I installed that Pertronix unit It started on the first pull. This is
after not running for 5 years. Speaks well of the technology and it is
hidden inside the distributor from the purists. Tally Ho! Thom Collins

Greetings all! I currently have 25,000 miles on a pertronix unit......
Running with a bosch "blue" coil. NEVER, NEVER leave ignition. on without
starting the engine!!! Will burn up the pertronix unit!

It's funny how some people have no trouble with them, and some people have
 ALOT of problems......

   Hi Bjorn,

I would suggest the Petronix coil and add the ignition system to go with
 it.

   Better performance and quicker starts.

   Looks correct for the OPs.

What is a recommended aftermarket ignition coil for the TC? Is there
any justification for using a Moss replica coil other than appearance,
   either the 143-210 or 143-200?

Dave, how long time is "on"? I like to check that the fuel pump is
alive and ticking before starting. I assume that's OK?

I've had mine "on" without the engine running for up to 30 seconds
without any ill effects, on multiple vehicles fitted with Pertronix
devices. I assume that Pertronix is speaking of minutes and not seconds
 regarding this issue.
