Gattering the information you all gave me, I came to this result and solution(please let me know if i am telling something incorrect.) The chassis of my car is an early one. The body mounted on it is a small and late one. The tank i have is a wide and early one. Instead of changing the body(wich is as new), I will make the petrol tank smaller,by cutting out a part in the middle , so i can put the large rear wings of the later model(wich should be the same as TC)

Re: late or early body
Re: late or early body Harry - it is a pity that the previous owner put the wrong body on, but it would be a mistake to cut up your original tank. Much better to buy a new one, or do a swap - somebody out there probably needs your tank!
As to inches, the conversion is easy, just use your calculator and multiply by 2.54 to give you centimetres. No calculator handy? As a rough guide multiply by 2.5, and reckon 40 inches to the metre (actually 39.4)
