MG TC SEATS

Post by Mark » Mon Dec 24, 2001 3:19 pm

My car was purchased way back in 1960 in Sydney Australia and driven there for 6 years.
When I bought it it had MGTA drivetrain (MPJG 3195) which I replaced around 1965 when
a friend wrote of his TC and left me all the usable parts including my present engine (XPAG 9840).
In 1966 the car and I went away to sea
All I have left of the TA days are the headlamps and the bucket seats. In all these years I have
never seen another TC with bucket seats but whilst driving in Scotland with the girl who
is now my wife I was told by another TC driver that I have bucket seats from a TA Tickford.
He seemed to know what he was talking about and I have never seen a Tickford _ could
this be true _ it would jibe with the original machinery.

I think you had better scrap those seats........ I just recently read in response to an ad for new 2002 Ford Thunderbirds that: They should come out with bench seats for the T-Bird, because a survey siad: There have been more divorces since bucket seats have become more common. After all, you are still married.... BOB Mark wrote:

I think Hudson had it right way back in the '50s or so when their cars had seats that rolled all the way back and turned into a bed. Badge

Well you could be right, I don't know nuttin' 'bout them furrin cars. It seems like Nash and Hudson might have merged sometime in the fifties anyway to become AMC - I think. Two slaps on the wrist for Badger.
