Special Files & Front Spindle Bearings

Post by Peter Pleitner » Thu Dec 20, 2001 6:53 am

Hi Steve, You have to have a Yahoo ID to access "special files". However, Walter retained his original web site for member and file information which is at www.mg-tabc.org. That is where all the good, well organized and easily accessed information is. Jim, correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall there is only one file (Special File) which is password corrected). However Steve, if you wish to search past message postings which are in Yahoo's archive, you will have to register with Yahoo and get an ID and create a PW. And since front bearings are finally displacing viruses as to topic of the week, I should point out that I wrote a detailed and illustrated tech article about repairing failed front spindles, the probably cause (you guessed it tapered bearings without spacer), and how to properly set up tapered roller bearings with spacer and suitable shims. It is in the technical file section of the above web site, or: http://www.mg-tabc.org/t-list-gall-07.htm While you are there, enjoy the fruits of Walter Prechsl's labor by exploring the rest of his web site. Merry Christmas to most, and "Season's Greetings" for the rest, Peter Pleitner Ann Arbor, MI USA -----Original Message----- From: steve.fielder@talk21.com [mailto:steve.fielder@talk21.com] Sent: Thursday, December 20, 2001 4:11 AM To: mg-tabc@yahoogroups.com Subject: [mg-tabc] Special Files Seasons Greetings to all how do I gain access to the "Special Files" on the TABC website? Are mere mortals allowed access? Please can someone let me know.
