A suggestion-For those of you who use Windows-You may wish to explore the latest version of Norton Anti -Virus. I use it as part of Norton System Works. I have it set to scan all email, incoming and outgoing. It has detected and deleted numerous virus attacks (several coming from members of this group). Perhaps we should accept that virus protection is to email communication as oil changes to a T car--simply a matter of routine preventive maintenance.--Tom Poole

"................as oil changes to a T car ..........maintenance".--Tom Poole You mean some people actually change their oil? I always assumed that replacement of the leakage was sufficient to maintain an acceptable level of oil quality. Gentlemen, please! Talking about computers and viruses is even more boring than endless discussions about threads per inch and firewall colors. Badger on the Brink

Dear Listers, Here is a way to prevent any "worms" from attacking your address list; Try it. It Works! In your address book type in the name AAAAAAAAA. Then under email address type in mailto:ViruAlert@Somewhere.com What happens is that any virus starts to attack you email address list beginning with the first address list. Then it goes on to attack the list by sending via the email address. WHen it cannot send the email to ViruAlert@Somewhere.com it can't go any further in your address. This will also alert you by your server sending you a notice that the email didn't go through. Then all you do is delete the message and its done. It works and I have had this on my address list for several months now. Kind regards, Bruce TC #2721 XPAG #3355

No, it doesn't work. The "instructions" you forwarded are widely circulated on the Internet, but are considered a hoax. The address book trick works only against a couple of very old viruses that are no longer in circulation. It has absolutely no effect against the majority of viruses.
