T pushrod length

Post by donker@aol.com » Mon Nov 19, 2001 4:06 pm

Does anyone know the operating length of pushrods for the XPAG and XPEG engines? The length I need is that from the contact point at the cam follower to the contact point at the rocker adjuster, not the overall length. Thanks...Bill Bollendonk, Littleton, Colorado USA

Bill, I am just catching up with e-mails after some 10 days 'off-line'. I agree with Clive's comments but would recommend a little 'trial and error' with careful measurement to give the correct angle of attack (see comments by Neil Cairns, Stephen Cooper and Carl Cederstrand in Octagon Bulletins #362,364,377) for your individual engine. After skimming the head and fitting a Crane cam to my XPAG a few years ago I ran for some time with packing pieces under the pedestals before doing this. After fitting the shorter rods the change in performance was marked. Best wishes, Malcolm
